12 Tags of Christmas 2011 Day 1

So here goes. Its 9am in the morning and I realize that there are only 30 days in November and that means at midnight I will get to see day one of Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Chrismas. What a great insperation to get me back into my mojo.

Julie, I think of you every time I hop into the shower. (to warm up instead of blasting the heat)

Cynthia, I need to get to Spokane to see you. I drove though there on my way to Salt Lake City to the Family History Library and had someone with me so didn't stop.

So to everyone here is my first tag of for 2011

I started with a blue carstock base and ran blue ink over it to add some depth. I then took snowflakes I cut out from the cricut and inked with white ink over them a few times. I used my cricut to cut out NOEL from silver cardstock and then used glitter in silver to cover that. The scrolls are inked in blue and black from one of Tim Holtz Grunboard collection. and the two trees are from Jolee's. I used chrismas light embelishments and added those to the ribbon and tied the ribbon around the tag. I then tossed on a vynal sticker snowflake. the noel is popdotted for raised effect.

This is my day one tag using what I had on hand.

Its been a long dark year for me........

Its been a long dark year for me. I have not setped into my studio except to drop things into it. It became storage. A depressing reminder of my life at that moment. Well I am here to tell you I have found my path and I am taking it head on.

It has been hard not talking to my DD this past year. I still have not talked to her. BUT the lines of communication are opening. She text me maybe it was just the size of clothes my two grandbabies wear but that was more then I have had.

I started breaking out of this funk Nov 17th on my granddaughters 2 birthday. She is enjoying lots of playfood from me for her new kitchen my father bought her. I have also gotten to see photos of the family since then as I was told about a private online photo sharing site they set up.

So here goes to everyone I owe something to its going to be in the mail before christmas. I am also including something extra for you.

I will also be reading all emails, blog posts and posting them even if negitive, and youtube updates. I will respond to those needing responce.

Everyday I steped foot into my studio there the tags sat looking at me on my desk. I just ignored them and the pains everything caused me, kinda like being numb. So now they are unburried and getting packaged up. I am getting boxes tomorrow while I am out, I was invited to a christmas party for the first time ever. That was so cool so tomorrow I am going and taking chocolate covered marshmallows that I made tonight while waiting for Tim Holtz 12 days of christmas.

I also have some other things happening in my life. I have applied for Social Security. I am hoping that I am not out of remission for my sarcoidosis but I have a feeling thats not the case with the aching I have been feeling. I go for an xray Friday.

So I know catching up will not make everything better. BUT I do promise that I will take it slow and work at earning your trust and friendships back.

I have thought about each and every one of you on a daily basis.


My studio was turned into a storage room since I got home from California when my grandbaby was born. I bought a vagabond in early march, and I have just taken it out of the box and used it tonight for the first time. I dusted of my gypsy and my cricut and used them as well. I cannot wait to see what else I can pull out of my stash and use.

I am not MIA though I am Hijacking someoens internet right now.

Tags will be out to you soon as I return home. My daughter had her baby on Feb 11th, stuborn little child didnt want to come out. She was finally enduced. Labor was easy. My job as her coach was to sleep until she said I have to push. 10 minutes later (after 7 minutes telling her to not push) the baby was born. 3 minutes of real pushing after the Dr arrived with head being pushed out. Nurse almost delivered this precious little one. Its hard for her with being only 16 and all. I know that I will have many years of joy with my granddaughters. They are wonderful. Though I am having many sleepless nights. I hijacked someones internet tonight to post to you all. First time I am getting away from the house since the baby was born.
Today would have been my son's 11th Birthday so its a day I spend celebrating March 1st. Always to its not a sad day for me anymore just a day for me to go out and do things.

I miss my home I miss my husband. I miss my studio and my gypsy and cricut.
I miss creating and all of my online friends. I will be back in touch with you all soon as I can.

I am posting some of the pics here of my precious little grand babies. I will have more when I get home and can get everything settled. I dont even have time to sit infront of the computer to upload the photos. I clean all day and if not cleaning I am running after a baby or sitting for a minute and finding myself cat napping. I have had the little one many nights to let mama sleep. The older one Macy is adjusting quite easily to sleeping in her toddler bed. And to having a little sister.

I will talk to yall soon I hope. I am hoping to be home in the next few weeks. Dakota goes back to school in a few weeks and then life will be back onto a schedule. I will be returning home then. I may drive home via Vegas and would love to stop in an see Veronica.....and the scrapbook store in Vegas. And if I go that way maybe stop by and see few others on the drive home.

Ok so bad news I am in a Scrapbook Free ZONE no scrapbook stores for 50 miles plus. Before the baby was born I went looking one day when I needed a day out. NOTHING NADA I am going crazy.
Julie I managed to not spend in January except for my drive down here wich was gas and food and one night lodging.

February was ok I did goto some yardsales and pick up some things for this house. Basicly baby things that I didnt mind letting them have used. Storage bins. An amazing crib thats now the toddler bed. Its been a lot of work but worth it every bit.

My weightloss I dont know how that is going. I am going to a TOPS (taking off pounds sensibly) meeting this morning. I will see how that has been. We dont have in n out, sonic (thats any good), chickfila, and many more in my state so I had been eating out a lot when I first got here before baby was here. Wish me luck.

I am sitting here watching the sun crest the mountins so I had better get off here and get a little more sleep before the baby wakes up.

Challenge #1

Ok so here is the first challenge of the Gypsy Chirps Website.

This is a two parter yall..

First Go through all of your cartridges and make sure ALL of them are registered at cricut.com. This is good thing to do. I am guilty of not getting all of mine registered.

Second of the cartridges you have how many have you not cut a single item from? That many eh...had to have it and didn't ever use it.

The challenge is to goto the front of the book and follow long with the getting started project and create something from a cartridge you have not used before. Then post your project back here.

I will draw a name at the end of each month for a prize....but you gotta participate to be entered.
Each time you reply to a posting or complete a challenge post you will be entered into the drawing.
On the 15th of each month I will reveal what the giveaway is.

You have until the last day of each month to complete all challenges you want to enter and have the link posted back to this site.

Here is the first of many videos to come. I will be uploading more this evening. I had the batteries in my camera die and cant get to the office to get new once til hubby comes home...

I wanted to start slow and easy sometimes we do have difficulties with the simplest things and want to make sure when a problem happens you know how to fix it before thinking your gypsy is broken.

As you saw the in the video the cartridge took several times before it wanted to collect all the data and finish uploading to the gypsy that does not happen every time but when it does you now know what to do about it.

OK yall off to create.

If you have any questions on how to do something on the gypsy let me know I will do a video showing you how to do that specific thing or how to fix that problem.
